At approximately 3 p.m. today, a leak of non-radioactive ammonia occurred at the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station. Employees were removed from the building where the leak occurred, but site evacuations were not necessary. For more information, click here.

ORANGE COUNTY OPERATIONAL AREA EMERGENCY OPERATIONS CENTER

PRESS RELEASE 2, NOV 1, 2011, 17:00

 

At approximately 3 p.m. today, a leak of non-radioactive ammonia occurred at the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station, prompting a precautionary evacuation of workers on site. The ammonia leak was contained within two buildings, and there were no injuries to staff. Employees on site have not been evacuated.  For more information, click here.
